Legendary New York Mets Outfielder Art Shamsky visited the Cradle of Aviation Museum on April 9, 2019 for a very special evening to talk about his new books and share stories about his career.
Cradle of Aviation members were treated to a VIP meet and greet with the legend followed by a one hour interview by the museum’s Director, Andrew Parton, which both members and non-members of the museum were permitted to attend.
New York Sportscene Editor Joanne Phillips was on hand at this special event and caught up with Art Shamsky for an exclusive interview.
Joanne also caught video of the highlight of the evening – the live interview for the audience.
Andrew Parton, President of the Cradle of Aviation Museum and longtime friend of Art Shamsky, interviewed Shamsky in the museum’s spacious jetBlue Sky Theater Planetarium, Long Island’s only Giant Screen Dome Theater, five stories high.
These videos are chock full of great Mets trivia and comments from Shamsky and can be seen below.
And last but not least, Joanne took photos depicting the talk in the jetBlue theater…the book signing/shaking hands/interacting with Mets fans both male & female….the Mets logo on the screen in the jetBlue theater….the large “Space” sign depicting relationship with the unique venue….Shamsky’s 1969 World Series ring on his hand….Shamsky’s books on sale in the museum’s gift shop.
