Jacoby Ellsbury out for the season

On Monday, OF Jacoby Ellsbury underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left hip to repair a torn labrum.  The surgery was performed by Dr. Bryan Kelly at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan.  The surgery went as expected.

The typical recovery time frame to resume full competition following this procedure is approximately six months.

Spin: This season was a lost cause for an aging Ellsbury and his future as a Yankee is unknown. However, he is unlikely he to be going anywhere next season with the money still owed to him.
