Frank Lombardo named Senior Director at New York Sportscene Children’s Foundation

Ronkonkoma, N.Y. (September 7, 2016) – The New York Sportscene Children’s Foundation is excited to announce that Frank Lombardo, Esq. has been added to the Foundation’s Board of Directors as a Senior Director. Lombardo, an instrumental member of the Foundation’s events committee, will also serve as the Chair of our 2017 Celebrity Golf Classic. “I am excited to continue working with this great charity and look forward to helping children and those in need by serving as the Chairman of next year’s charity golf event,” said Lombardo.

Lombardo has great experience in the field of local philanthropy. He is a special consultant to the Board of Directors of the Long Island Blues Society and sits on the Board of Directors of the Blues on the Bay Music Festival (formerly the Cedar Beach Blues Festival) where he raises money during this two-day event for various children’s’ charities. Frank and his family and longtime friend and charity partner Mark Klein also advocate for medically frail children with numerous disabilities.  Lombardoand Klein have a talent for bringing musicians and their fans into the ‘fundraising for children’ world.  In addition to raising thousands of toys for the Stony Brook Child Life Care program, making donations of flat screen televisions to the Pediatric Psychological floor at Stony Brook to be used for behavioral rewards. Frank, his family and Klein are very instrumental and key players in raising thousands of dollars in numerous fundraisers such as “Help Emma Get a Lift” concert fundraiser, Long Island Rocks for Angela’s House and Rock & Roll BBQ for Angela’s house.

Outside of his charitable activities, Lombardo is a successful attorney. He is a partner and senior trial attorney with the New York City based law firm of Wingate, Russotti, Shapiro&Halperin.  Following his graduation from St. Johns University, he attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. His Law career began in 1987 and he has litigated and tried cases to verdict in the New York and Federal District Courts for over 25 years, specializing in construction and Labor Law cases, insurance coverage litigation and other negligence actions including automobile, premises and products liability. He has successfully briefed and argued appeals in the New York Appellate Division, First and Second Departments, as well as the New York State Court of Appeals. Lombardo has been a member of the Brooklyn-Manhattan Trial Lawyers Association for the past 19 years, of which he is the former President.

The New York Sportscene Children’s Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit charity which helps to benefit and improve the lives of children and to help those in need live happier and healthier lives. The mission of the New York Sportscene Children’s Foundation provides much needed support to local charities.
