Alex Rodriguez added a solo home run for the AL East-leading Yankees, who have won the first two games in this series and will look to complete a sweep on Thursday afternoon. Ivan Nova (2-3) ended a three-start losing streak by holding the Orioles to two runs in six innings of work. The right- hander allowed three hits, including a two-run homer by Ryan Flaherty, and walked three. Andrew Miller gave up a home run to Chris Davis with two outs in the ninth, but he struck out Jonathan Schoop to earn his 22nd save.

Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) – Danny Espinosa’s RBI double capped a three-run rally in the bottom of the eighth inning that lifted the Washington Nationals to a 4-3 win over the New York Mets on Wednesday afternoon. Michael Taylor hit a tying two-run single in the eighth and drove in three as the NL East-leading Nationals took two of three against their division rivals to finish off a 3-3 homestand. Kirk Nieuwenhuis had a two-run double for the Mets, who went 2-4 on a six-game road trip. Nationals right-hander Jordan Zimmermann was in line for the loss after giving up three runs on seven hits in seven innings. Matt Thornton (1-0) pitched a 1-2-3 eighth inning for the win and Drew Storen struck out the side in the ninth for his 29th save of the season. Mets rookie Noah Syndergaard allowed five hits and one run but walked five and threw 98 pitches in his five innings.
