Adam Warren (2-1) allowed four runs on four hits and two walks over 5 2/3 frames. Andrew Miller got David Ortiz to line out to center with the bases loaded in the ninth to end the game and notch his 10th save of the season. Joe Kelly (1-1) surrendered five runs on nine hits over 4 2/3 innings for Boston, which has dropped six of its last eight games.

Doug Fister (2-1) improved to 5-0 in five career starts against the Mets after working into the seventh inning. He allowed five hits, no walks and struck out three. The Nationals won three of the four games, including back-to-back 1-0 decisions, improving to 17-2 in their last 19 at Citi Field. They have won five of their last six overall on the heels of a six-game slide. Dillon Gee (0-2) faced the Nationals for a 17th time in his career — his most common opponent — and took the loss after giving up six hits and five walks.
