New to the terrestrial radio airwaves and the international podcast scene is “The Sports Watchdog Radio Show”—an exciting, recently-launched 30-minute radio sports talk program hosted by lauded 18-year old TV and radio sportscaster and writer Mason Kern, “The Sports Watchdog” himself — a contributer. Having debuted on January 7, 2018, this fresh weekly sports talk show airs each Sunday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. MT on “Independent Talk” 1100 KFNX, voted one of the top ten radio stations in Arizona by Ranking Arizona with over 50,000 weekly listeners. The Sports Watchdog Radio Show host, Mason Kern, is a sportscasting phenom who some veteran TV newscasters have declared on-air as the “Amadeus” of sports broadcasting. Now with his own topical weekly radio show, Mason keeps his nose to the ground to uncover what’s trending in the world of sports to inform, enlighten and entertain.  In his conversation kennel each week are compelling and insightful interviews with top-tier professional and collegiate athletes, among others, as well as newsworthy current events and hot topics that’ll keep listeners inspired, make them think, and keep them fired up for the sports action ahead.

In addition to weekly discussion of hot sports headlines, trending social media news, and a recurring “Happenings on the Hardwood” basketball feature, the first Sports Watchdog Radio Show also included interviews with NFL Hall of Fame linebacker Shawne Merriman as well as the venerable Chris “Handles” Franklin from the Harlem Globetrotters. Upcoming interviews will include conversations with current Detroit Lions safety Don Carey III and Chris Gronkowski from the NFL, as well as Anthony ‘Buckets’ Blakes from the Harlem Globetrotters and Carrick Felix from the NBA, among many other sports stars. Mason’s prior podcast interviews have featured Anthony Trucks, Terrell Fletcher and Bart Oates from the NFL, as well as Jonathan Bender and John Salmons from the NBA. Mason’s past KUSI-TV 2017 ESPYs-related interviews have included one-on-one standups with legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk, ESPY-winning snowboarder Anna Gasser, Dallas Mavericks point guard Seth Curry, FOX Sports analyst Matt Leinart, Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall, the “Naughty by Nature” rap group, boxer Andre Berto,  and an array of others.
