The New York Sportscene Children’s Foundation held its second annual Celebrity Golf Classic this past Monday at the Hamlet Golf and Country Club. This sell-out fundraising event saw attendees enjoy a full day of fun including golf with celebrities, a pool party for in-need kids featuring food games with Chef Paula Gottlieb, a TV quality celebrity chef cook-off and an awards dinner to end the evening.
Boyd Melson, Founder of Team Fight to Walk, was the official honoree at the event where he split his time between hanging with the kids and promoting his important message about spinal injury awareness to the event attendees. Melson gave a touching speech at the awards dinner lending further understanding to his cause.
One highlight of the event was the Celebrity Chef Cook-off where Chef Eddie G, Chef Barret Beyer and Chef Jonathan Scinto battled each other in a Filet Mignon challenge. Chuck Lott Jr. hosted the cook-off which featured musician Joanne J-Bird Phillips, FOX broadcaster Kelly Wright, Frank J. Lombardo Esq., musician Gary U.S. Bonds and boxer Boyd Melson as the Judges. All of the dishes were fabulous but in the end, Chef Eddie G came away with the victory.
